YIn Yoga with Aimee
Yin Yoga is a slowed down form of practice, with an emphasis on relaxed, passive stretching. It targets the joints, bones and other deep connective tissues. Yin Yoga is very meditative, offering inward reflection and opportunity to enjoy more stillness and relaxation of the musculature of the body. This can also have profound effects on calming the nervous system. The poses are gentle and straight-forward, props are used quite a bit to support the longer held poses. It is accessible to people of all levels and everyone works silently, individually on exploring their own gentle edge.
Please come enjoy a relaxed afternoon of unwinding and self-care!
Meet Aimee
Yoga has given me incredible opportunities to live a life with purpose and connect with countless, beautiful souls in the sacred heart space. In my 25 years of teaching, I have enjoyed leading daily classes, teacher trainings, retreats, as well as owned and operated 5 wonderful yoga studios. I understand faith as an act of resting your heart, so yoga helps me to practice faith. It is something I am continuously integrating into every aspect of my life, but there are no words or thoughts that can actually describe it. It is my practice for using this life as a vehicle for awakening and connection, and trusting compassion as a guidepost.
Now that I’m in my early 50’s, I continue to appreciate the physical practice in new ways. Not only does yoga offer low-impact training for strength and flexibility, it is also an incredible tool for dealing with pain and inflammation. It’s also an incredibly accessible, healthy way to cope with stress which helps soothe anxiety and depression from a holistic perspective.
I met my husband in 2012, he was from Markleeville - a place I had never heard - five years later, I sold my studio to move from my hometown of Santa Cruz to live in the Sierras. I don’t teach as often as I used to, but it is still my passion and I am very grateful for the opportunities to share my knowledge and connect with others. Namaste.
